IW4AL was birthed in 2016, a vision started by Cheryl Houston who simply asked a few close friends if they were ready for change.
We are a sisterhood working on Kingdom building. We to have experienced hardships i.e. jail, substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness and domestic violence just to name a few. We decided that we wanted to do better and help others in need. We started praying together and strengthening our personal lives according to His Word.
That same year, we hosted our first Adopt a Shelter program in serving the homeless. This grew quickly to not only feedings, but providing resources needed to help such as employment services, housing referrals and health needs to include onsite HIV testing. IW4AL also donate gently used clothing and hygiene products at each program.
IW4AL has other programs based around ending homelessness through rent and utility assistance and outreach that touch homelessness first hand on the streets. I have been experiences hardships near homelessness and if it wasn't for having support and family I could have very well been that person.
IW4AL is striving towards opening a resource center. This can only be done with your help.
We encourage you today to give and help us help others end this fight.
